Who I am
Raechel Tigner Wright, owner and manager. I have degrees in psych, math, law, and computer science, and I worked for many years for several different corporations and industries doing all kinds of things, mostly related to computer software. I moved to Charlevoix in 2002 from Columbus, Ohio.
I've always been a foodie. Obsessed by food, my daughter once said. In fact, many members of my family are gourment cooks, and we have "family and friend dinners" every Sunday night that beat any restaurant meal you'll ever experience.
I decided that when my daughter left for college I needed to tackle something new. So I bought a cafe, and jumped in. It has been both a humbling learning experience and a great time.
About the Alcove Cafe
Hemingway never ate here
We are open every day for breakfast and lunch, 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM. During winter we are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Find us: 103 Park Avenue in beautiful Charlevoix, Michigan, steps from the bridge.
We serve a menu inspired by the Mediterranean, including omelets, soups, pizzas, salads, panini, and many specialty dishes. We make everything from scratch using fresh local ingredients when they're available. We use no deli meats - we roast and slice our own. We serve fabulous organic, fair-trade coffee, and we have espresso drinks, too.
